A planning tool to assist Health Authorities and community organizations in BC wishing to undertake a community food assessment in their region or community.
This guide has been developed within a health context for the Community Food Action Initiative and addresses requirements outlined in the BC Ministry of Health Core Food Security Program.
More specifically the aims of this guide are to: clarify the purpose of a community food assessment - what it is and why conduct an assessment; identify the key elements and processes of a community food assessment; provide tools to assist those who are conducting community food assessments to ensure effective and efficient methods are used.
